Schuhplattler Tutorial
Part 4

by Andrew F. Mayer
After you have these eleven hits down, it should look like the GIF ANIMATION on the right.  Notice the bounce that I have, and how my balance shifts.  You will want to practice adding this bounce (sprung) once you can do this dance without hesitation.  Speed is not important. Knowing the hits really well is.
We have just learned the hardest part (aren't you glad the rest is easy?).   Next, we'll concentrate on the beginning and hits between the 11 hits.  Here is a rundown of what I am trying to do.  You have already done the sections in blue (the 11 hit sequences).
          Beginning of the dance (Eingang).

These other hits are at a slower pace than the 11 hits you just learned, so make sure you know those 11 hits quite well.
"Stampf" means stamp, as you might have guessed.  It is done, in this dance, with the right foot.  Use mostly your heel, and not the front of your foot.  The motion is straight down, not to the sides, front, or back.  And, yes, at times, some of the front part of your foot will also contact.
The first two stamps are what I consider the intro section.
I then do two "Stampf 1,2" 's, keeping my balance on my left foot UNTIL AFTER the second "Stampf", where I switch my balance ofer to my right foot.  WHY?   Right after the second "2" is when I start my 11 hit sequence and I need my right foot down so that I can lift my left foot up (the #1 hit).
